Anatoliy A. Bondarchuk, Director of UAAS Institute for Potato Research of Ukrainian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, a candidate of agriculture sciences

Anatoliy A. Bondarchuk, a candidate of agriculture sciences, assistant professor, honoured agriculture worker of Ukraine, a Head of Co-ordinating and Methodik Council on potato production problems, editor-in-chief of "Kartopliarstvo". A.A.Bondarchuk began his work in 1967 as a brigader-leader of Kalinincollective farm of Yampil region, Vinnitzia district.

In 1975 he graduated from Uman Order of the Red Banner of Labour Agriculture Institute of Gorkiy in specialization from fruit-vegetable and vine-growing productions with clasification of educated agronomist. In 1976 he was a leader of collecting-farm "Bilshovik" of Vinnitzia district, the city of Kalinovka, from 1992 - a leader of agriculture collecting-farm "Artemida". From 1997 up to 2002 - a leader of Kalinovka district executive committee, from 2002 up to 2004 - a director of research farming "Artemida". From 2004 up to this day he is a director of Institute for Potato Research of Ukrainian Academy of Agricultural Science

Andriy A. Osipchuk, deputy director (head of Potato Breeding Center) of UAAS Institute for Potato Research

Andriy A. Osipchuk is a leading potato breeder in Ukraine.

33 potato varieties have been developed under the leadership and with the direct participation of A.A. Osipchuk, 22 of them enter or entered the Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine, Russian Federation, Republic of Belarus’, Latvia, Georgia. Productivity of these varieties is higher by 10-20% than productivity of other varieties.

For the first time in Ukraine it has been developed a number of varieties with resistance to potato golden nematode, a dangerous quarantine object ( Vodohray, Obriy, Povin’, Prolisok, Slovianka), relative resistance to the Colorado Potato Beetle (Zarevo, Svitanok Kyivs’ky, Volovets’ka), to stem nematode, common scab as well as with high environmental adaptability.

A.A. Osipchuk is an author of 113 scientific works, a co-author of a number of books.

A.A.Osipchuk is a member of the Institute’s Methods Commission, a member of the Board of Experts of Ukrainian State Committee for trials and protection of plant varieties. He has created an own school on potato breeding.
