Mechanized hospital laundry is used for washing, mending and anti-parasite impregnation of hospital linen. The laundry is manned using the staff of hospitals it is being part of. Capacity of МГПП for two shifts (20 hours) makes 350 kg of dry linen, which provides enough linen for a hospital with the capacity of 500 beds. Technical process of linen processing, except for loading and unloading, is fully mechanized.

МГПП includes the following equipment:

• steam boiler РИ - 2;
• mobile power generating unit ЭСД - 10 ВС/23;

• rubber reservoir for water storage and two UST-56 tents.

All laundry's equipment except for the power generating unit, is mobile and, when deployed, is placed: processing equipment - in tents, steam, electric and reservoirs - outdoors. To haul main and auxiliary equipment and tools one ЗИЛ-130 lorry is necessary and one two-axes trailer. To facilitate handling operations and to be installed and ready for operation, the main operation equipment has been mounted on the special frames. Deployment time - 2 hours, roll-up time - 1 hour.

Preparation department (fig. 19) is located in the first half of the УСТ-56 tent. Here, the dirty linen is accepted, sorted per its degree of soiling and color, wetted in disinfectant (if required) and steeping. In the preparation department the rubber reservoir with the capacity of 1000 l is installed to wet linen and steeping device ПБ-10.

Laundry department (fig. 19) is located in the second half of the first УСТ-56 tent. Here the washing of linen and its wringing out are performed. There are installed here:

• washing machine,
• spin dryer,
• wash-tub for supplementary hand washing,
• rubber reservoir to store 1000 l of water,
• tanks for dissolution and storage of soap and sodium solutions.

Drying and ironing department (fig. 19) is located in the second УСТ-56 tent and is used for drying, mending, ironing and temporary storage of clean linen. The department includes:

• mobile steam boiler РИ - 2,
• Power generating unit ЭСД - 10 - ВС,
• pumping station, hand pump БКФ - 4,
• two rubber reservoir 1200 liters each,
• shower installation,
• steam and water communications and cables.

Semi-open boil-off unit is cylinder shape tank with capacity of 100 dcm3, manufactured of thin sheet steel with the thickness 2 mm (bottom 3 mm), inside the tank body 115 mm upwards from its bottom a metal perforated grid is installed where linen is laid. The steam-off device is heated with steam introduced into its housing. Time necessary to bring water to boiling temperature within boil-off device is 15 minutes.

Procedure for bringing processing and auxiliary equipment from transportation mode into operational mode and its preparation for operation, laying of steam and water communications and electricity supply lines shall be carried out in compliance with the guidelines attached to the MГПП equipment. It should be noted, that the performance of said work create no problems and does not require special description. MГПП processing equipment is reliable and stable in operation. Spin dryer is an exclusion. To reduce vibration in the course of dry spinning operation it is fastened to the washing machine with two brace rods fixed at the frame of the washing machine. When deploying the laundry one should remember that pumping station ЦНШ included into the set of MГПП is capable to pump water from a depth of 5 meters. Only on condition of compliance with such requirement the reliable operation of pump may be guaranteed and sufficient volume of water supplied to the laundry. On condition of normal end of operation, the roll-up and stacking of the laundry's equipment take 1 hour. Steps to roll-up the laundry and the procedure of putting it into transportation mode are set forth in Laundry Operation Manual. The important stage during the laundry roll-up is the correct stowage of equipment and inventories in transportation vehicles.
