Transport Airship Requirements

They are big and clumsy but there is enough space around;
they are slow but there are quite a few people and goods that do not hurry;
as transport means they usually can not excel ordinary planes, ships or cars - still there are places without airports, harbors or highways.

All in all, an airship is a nice niche product and it is no wonder that Aviation Authorities of several countries are developing common comprehensive airworthiness requirements for large airships - take a look at the TAR draft...
